Adventure in the Himalayas doesn’t get any better !
Zanskar valley is a place truly locked away in time. Surrounded by the great Himalayan peaks, averaging an altitude of 3,600m and with majestic peaks as high as 7,000m, Zanskar has remained largely untouched. There is great riding to be had besides torrid rivers and steep gorges around near desolate terrain making it truly the Badlands of the Himalayas.
Riding through off-road stretches, challenging terrain, water crossings and uncharted roads, are only a few of the spectacular things that you will come across on your adventure!
Shinku La
Drang Drung Glacier

Leh
Day 01
Travel to Leh, the capital of Ladakh. The plan for the day is complete rest devoid of any exertion. The objective is for you to be acclimatized to the high altitude and the low oxygen levels here at that altitude. Rest and Relax is the motto of the day!
Day 02
Today we indulge in a relaxed ride in order for you to be better acclimatized as well as get accustomed to Indian roads and traffic conditions. This ride is short, about 60 kms in all. We will have a complete ride briefing in the evening to prepare you for the journey ahead.
Day 03
The ride is on smooth tarmac all the way to Drass. This road takes us further down in elevation from Leh to our destination for the day. Once boasting of the tag - “second coldest place on earth”, Drass is primarily a militarized highland town, being the flashpoint of a major war from 1999.
Day 04
While the day starts on good tarmac roads from Drass, we will then turn into an offbeat path to reach our destination for the day. This is the day when the adventure truly starts with narrow passes and entry to the Zanskar valley. Overnight we enjoy camping under starlit skies and the milky way!
Day 05
This day’s ride will be a test for the riders. On this day, the team crosses another pass in Penzi La (14435 ft) which offers magnificent views of the Drang Drung Glacier, the region’s second largest glacier.
Day 06
On this day the team will traverse some treacherous terrain to reach Shinku La and return a short distance to the base of the holy mountain, Gombok Rangjon where we will camp for the night.
Day 07
On this day the team will retrace our path to Padum and further on to Zangla. Once the seat of a large kingdom in the area, it is adorned by centuries old forts, the ramparts of which lie on top of a mountain. Here, we enjoy local hospitality in the village of Zangla.
Day 08
This will be the last day of riding and we do save the best for the last. Some of the most epic riding to be had alongside the Zanskar river, you will treat your senses to an adventure the likes of which you haven’t had before. The notable point for the day is the Zanskar and Indus Confluence point which the riders will be able to spot, on the way to Leh.
Day 09
Until next time!
