Himalayan Odyssey is an epic journey into the Himalayas on a Royal Enfield motorcycle and this year, you'll be a part of a milestone edition as we mark 20 Years of our flagship ride. Come join the ride on exciting terrain through empty stretches of pristine landscape, rock-strewn pathways, and views that take your breath away. The 2024 edition will witness 100 riders from all over the world and will head to Zanskar Valley and Siachen Base Camp for the first time. Team Zoji La and Team Zanskar will take two different routes up to Leh where both groups will get together and set off towards Umling La, the world's highest motorable pass. No matter which Team you pick, you'll complete an incredible circuit, ticking off all of the key locations on the ride, covering approximately 3000 km.

Day 00
On 3rd August 2024, arrive in Chandigarh, settle down for a meet and greet with riders who will accompany you for the next 18 days. You will also get a lowdown on very interesting trivia from the RE team during Bike scrutiny which could help you take care of your motorcycle during the ride. This is the day when you check in to your hotel in Chandigarh, you will also have an evening free to wind down or explore the city.
Day 01
Basic first aid training on the second day followed by a briefing makes sure that all understand the basic principles of riding together as a team in the mountains. These learnings and practices will hold you in good stead not just for the Odyssey but also for your future rides to come. We’ll also talk about some interesting aspects of the Himalayas and riding in that region.
Day 02
350 km of smooth tarmac gets you from Chandigarh to Jammu. Thus begins the second day of your ride on the Himalayan Odyssey
Day 03
The ride from Jammu to Srinagar, covering about 240 km, offers a mesmerizing journey through the scenic beauty of Jammu and Kashmir. Passing through mountainous terrain and charming towns like Udhampur, it culminates in the enchanting landscapes and cultural richness of Srinagar, making it a memorable drive.
Day 04
The road from Srinagar to Kargil spans approximately 200 km, traversing the Himalayan region's breathtaking vistas. Meandering alongside the serene Suru River, the journey reveals awe-inspiring landscapes, charming villages, and the historic Dras War Memorial. This route offers a blend of natural beauty and historical significance, promising an unforgettable experience.
Day 05
Reaching Leh marks the end of a significant chapter of the Himalayan Odyssey and what better thing to do than to soak in the sights and sounds of this beautiful town and the region. After a week’s long ride, the best thing for you to do would be to take a break and visit the recommended places like the Leh palace, monasteries, and Shanti stupa and scour the local market for memorabilia and trinkets and savour the local delicacies.

Leh, a Himalayan paradise, beckons with cultural and natural wonders. Explore the historic Leh Palace, visit ancient monasteries like Thiksey and Hemis, and indulge in the local market's vibrant offerings. Marvel at Magnetic Hill's ‘gravity-defying phenomenon. Engage in outdoor adventures like trekking and river rafting, immersing in Ladakh's unique landscape. Connect with the warm Ladakhi culture, and savour traditional cuisine, for a complete Leh experience.
Day 07
The journey from Leh to Hanle, covering around 255 km, is an odyssey through Ladakh's remote landscapes. The two nights in Hanle will take the adventure up a notch as we go camping under the stars. The small village, with its pristine beauty and the Indian Astronomical Observatory, offers a tranquil escape in the high-altitude wilderness of Ladakh.
Day 08
Embarking on a motorcycle ride to Umling La, the world's highest motorable pass, is a thrilling adventure and a major bucket list item for thousands. The ride spans challenging terrains, rugged mountains, off-road, hairpin bends, and serene valleys. Riders navigate extreme altitudes, relishing breathtaking landscapes and the exhilaration of conquering a pinnacle in the Himalayas.
Day 09
A 200 km ride from Hanle to Pangong Tso highlights Ladakh's mesmerizing high-altitude terrain. As you approach Pangong Tso, the striking blue lake amidst arid mountains creates a surreal vista, making the ride truly unforgettable.
Day 10
The route from Pangong Tso to Nubra Valley, a 228-km journey, involves winding roads offering panoramic views of the exquisite Himalayas. Descending into Nubra, you encounter the dramatic Hunder Sand Dunes, where the rugged desert charm meets lush greenery, presenting a striking contrast in nature's canvas.
Day 11
The expedition from Nubra Valley to Siachen Base Camp, a ride of over 200 km to & fro, leads to the world's highest battlefield. It's an arduous but awe-inspiring venture into the heart of the Himalayas.
Day 12
The road journey from Nubra Valley to Leh, covering approximately 130 km, is a visual spectacle. Crossing the Khardung La Pass, one of the world's highest motorable passes, the route offers breathtaking views of snow-capped peaks. Descending into the Indus Valley, it concludes with the charm and cultural richness of Leh.

The 240-km ride from Leh to Padum traverses through mountain passes like Sir Sir La, Singe La and the journey unfolds stunning landscapes, ancient monasteries, and the enchanting Zanskar River. Padum awaits as a serene town immersed in traditional Tibetan culture.

Padum to Jispa is a 140-km ride through scenic Zanskar landscapes and challenging terrains. The route unfolds the raw beauty of Himachal Pradesh. Jispa, nestled along the Bhaga River, welcomes with serene vistas, marking the transition from Zanskar's tranquility to Lahaul's charm.
Day 16
The journey from Jispa to Manali, spanning about 95 km, traverses through the Atal Tunnel, built under the Rohtang Pass in the eastern Pir Panjal range of the Himalayas. Descending into the lush Kullu Valley, it concludes with the vibrant charm of Manali.
Day 17
The ride of over 260 km from Manali to Chandigarh descends from the Himalayas, crossing scenic valleys and charming towns like Kullu and Mandi. As you approach Chandigarh, the journey provides a seamless transition from mountainous terrain to the plains of northern India.
Day 18
This day you would check out of the hotel and start your journey back to your homes.

Traversing approximately 200 km from Kargil to Srinagar, the road unfolds a mesmerizing tapestry of landscapes in the Kashmir Valley. Passing through Dras and Sonamarg, the journey presents snow-capped peaks, lush meadows, and serene lakes.
Day 16
Srinagar and Jammu are connected via a 240 km ride that goes through the scenic vistas of the Pir Panjal range. Meandering alongside the Jhelum River, the route unveils charming villages and terraced fields.
Day 17
The day you'll saddle up for 350 km heading down from Jammu to Chandigarh. The route naturally offers a diverse landscape transition from the hilly terrains around Jammu, through the Shivalik Hills, passing by lush green fields, arriving finally back in the plains.
